ESD-safe filament

Filament that lets static charge drain away in a controlled way, for prints around sensitive electronics.

ESD-safe filament stops a print from building up static charge and releasing it all at once. That makes it suitable for enclosures, holders and tools that come close to sensitive electronics. Here you will find all of our ESD-safe filament together, in PETG and in ABS. Read more…

What is ESD-safe filament?

ESD stands for electrostatic discharge: a sudden release of static electricity. For people it is at most a small shock, but electronic components can be damaged beyond repair. ESD-safe filament contains a conductive additive, so charge does not stay on the surface but drains away in a controlled way.

Applications

  • enclosures and holders for circuit boards
  • trays and storage bins for components
  • jigs, fixtures and workplace tools
  • parts for production and test set-ups

PETG or ABS?

PETG ESD is easy to print, warps little and is tough: a good choice for most parts. ABS ESD is more heat-resistant and easy to post-process, but needs a heated bed and preferably an enclosed printer.

You will also find both under PETG & PCTG and ABS & ASA; this page brings them together.
