PC/ABS filament

A blend of polycarbonate and ABS: tougher and more heat-resistant than plain ABS.

PC/ABS combines the strength and heat resistance of polycarbonate with the printability of ABS. The result is a tough, impact-resistant material for technical parts that need more than plain ABS can give, without the high printing temperatures of pure PC. Read more…

What is PC/ABS?

PC/ABS is a blend of polycarbonate (PC) and ABS. Polycarbonate adds strength, impact resistance and higher heat resistance; ABS makes the material easier to process. Together they form a material widely used in industry for enclosures and functional parts.

Why PC/ABS?

  • Tougher and more impact-resistant than plain ABS.
  • More resistant to heat.
  • Easy to post-process: sanding, drilling and gluing.

Printing tips

Print PC/ABS on a heated bed and preferably in an enclosed printer, so the material cools evenly and does not warp. Keep the spool dry: like PC, it absorbs moisture from the air.

Applications

  • enclosures for electronics
  • technical and mechanical parts
  • parts for cars and motorbikes
  • prototypes that are put to real use
