Parts

Parts wear out, and that is normal. A nozzle that has passed thousands of hours of filament no longer prints as crisply as on day one, and a Bowden tube bent hundreds of times will eventually let air through. A few spares in a drawer save you a week of waiting for a delivery when something gives up.

Nozzles

We stock two sizes that between them cover most printers. The brass MK7/MK8 nozzle fits the widely used Bowden hotends, and the M6 nozzle is meant for E3D V5 and V6 hotends. Brass conducts heat well and is inexpensive, so you can replace it without hesitation once the opening is no longer round. If you print a lot with filled filaments such as carbon or glass fibre, expect faster wear: those fibres grind the opening wider.

Bowden tube and fittings

The PC4 push fittings clamp your PTFE tube and release it the moment you press the ring. They come in two versions, including a through-wall version for when the tube has to pass a panel on both sides. Replace a fitting as soon as the tube no longer sits firmly in it, because a tube that springs back a couple of millimetres mid-print causes exactly the under-extrusion you can spend hours hunting for.

Bed and extruder

The yellow bed springs are stiffer than the standard springs often supplied with a printer. They sag less, so your bed stays level longer and needs levelling less often. The aluminium MK8 extruder upgrade replaces the plastic arm that cracks on many printers after a while — often unnoticed, until filament stops being fed at all.
