In the world of 3D printing, the choice of high-grade filaments and 3D printers is crucial for achieving optimal results. Waiting a long time for filament from Bambu Lab is not necessary at all. Thanks to the new spools and their unmistakable filament quality, both our filaments from Fiberlogy and Fill 3D are excellently suited to use in the AMS. Fiberlogy spools are also reusable. You can prise the spool apart and refill it with Fiberlogy Refill filament. This refill filament, currently available in Easy PLA, Easy PETG, ABS and PCTG, can also be used with empty spools from Bambu Lab — a win-win situation. 

Fiberlogy filament is produced with the highest accuracy. With a tolerance of 0.02 mm this is the highest perfection you could wish for. Chinese manufacturers, for example, do not even come close to that much care and attention. Our own brand, Fill 3D, is in no way inferior. It is produced in the EU and is an excellent choice as a slightly more sharply priced alternative, or for just that one colour you are looking for. In both cases you are making an excellent choice!

Bambu Lab 3D printers: an overview

Bambu Lab X1C

Bambu Lab's flagship, the X1C, is known for its advanced features and accurate prints. Multicolour or multimaterial prints are made possible by the Automatic Material System (AMS), which is available as an option. I use the Bambu Lab myself and I can only say that this really is an all-rounder. The most beautiful materials are printed effortlessly. From Fiberlogy Impact PLA to Fiberlogy PA12 with 15% carbon, thanks to the hardened steel extruder gears and nozzle it is a piece of cake.

Bambu Lab P1S

For a more affordable option with high-grade performance, the P1S with enclosure is an ideal choice. With a few handy upgrades you can turn the Bambu Lab P1S into a very accurate printer for any material. Here too the AMS is available as an option. There I go again, but I use this printer myself alongside my X1C for bulk print work. I have replaced the standard extruder gears with the hardened steel version, and here too I have replaced the nozzle with hardened steel, so the printing properties are in no way inferior to its more expensive brother.

Bambu Lab P1P

Bambu Lab's entry-level core XY printer, the P1P, delivers accurate prints without an enclosure, suitable for makers who strive for precision and reliability. Certainly when you only print with PLA and PETG, this printer is ideal! And as you can imagine, an AMS is a very welcome addition to the Bambu Lab P1S as well.

Bambu Lab A1 and Bambu Lab A1 Mini

The newest additions to Bambu Lab's range, the A1 and A1 Mini, introduce an alternative AMS experience for even more possibilities. For this AMS too it applies that the spools from Fiberlogy and Fill 3D fit seamlessly. You can even use the well-known earlier spools from Fiberlogy on this AMS, because the width of the filament spool matters less here.

The new spools from Fiberlogy and Fill 3D are excellently suited to Bambu Lab's AMS

Whatever the Bambu Lab model, the Automatic Material System ensures a very pleasant workflow with the new spools from Fiberlogy and Fill 3D. These spools, recognisable by their specific, slightly slimmer design, are perfectly matched to Bambu Lab's AMS functionality. Where many older spools or house-brand spools from other suppliers are often too wide to use in the AMS, the renewed spools from Fiberlogy and Fill 3D have been developed precisely on the basis of dimensions that go perfectly with the AMS. Where Bambu Lab adds a so-called RFID chip to load the colour and material straight away when replacing a roll of filament, for the spools we supply from Fiberlogy and Fill 3D it is a very simple action to set this manually in the software or via the touch screen. Select the material, choose a matching colour and done! It is child's play.

How do you recognise the new spools?

The renewed spools from Fiberlogy are easy to recognise. Have a look at the product photos on our website to recognise the new spools from Fiberlogy.  The more open-worked white spools with the many holes are what guarantee a perfect fit for use in Bambu Lab's AMS. We keep a large stock of filament so that we can deliver quickly. However, because of our stock and Fiberlogy's, there are still rolls being delivered on the older spool. In itself that is no problem at all. On Bambu Lab printers you can also choose to use filament alongside the AMS. There are handy splitters for this. If you do want to use the material via the AMS, there are many possibilities for rewinding the rolls onto narrower spools. We have developed a reusable refill spool ourselves that is extremely suitable for the AMS and lends itself perfectly to rewinding wider rolls of filament. 

Doubts about Bambu Lab AMS compatibility?

For Fill 3D it applies that virtually all versions of PLA and many versions of PETG are available on a new (slightly narrower) spool. With the odd exception. The photos here are purely an indication of the colour. The roll you receive at home will mostly be delivered on the new spool. As mentioned, refill filament is also an option to use with your Bambu Lab 3D printer. Do you have specific wishes? Then contact us before your purchase.
