Filaments are available in many different materials. From ABS, PETG and Nylon to perhaps the best-known type, PLA. Within the various materials we again find a whole range of variations and combinations. You can think here of the visual effect. For example high gloss, fluorescent or transparent. Or the composition, such as Nylon mixed with carbon particles or with glass fibre particles. Naturally, countless colours are available for virtually every material, so you can select a suitable colour for every application.

3D filaments with specific properties

There are also filaments with specific properties. For PLA, for instance, you have a version that is a good deal stronger and resistant to higher impact and temperature: Fiberlogy Impact PLA. We wrote a blog post about that last year. We have also had a PLA filament with a plaster-like additive in our range for a while: Fiberlogy PLA Mineral. Until recently we had two colour versions of it, Natural and White. Fiberlogy has not been sitting still, however, and has come out with three more new colour additions for their mineral PLA filament.

3 new colours of Fiberlogy PLA mineral filament

The new colours in the PLA mineral family are fantastic. How about Black, a black plaster-like filament, perfect for your construction. Or do you need a concrete look? In that case you go for Fiberlogy PLA Mineral Concrete. The colour is fantastic and you can make the most beautiful concrete bridges and tunnels for your model building, or create a scale model that is printed in a neat colour straight away. The possibilities are endless. Last but certainly not least is our personal favourite, Fiberlogy PLA Mineral Marble. With this filament you make the most beautiful prints with a genuine marble look. The addition of pigment granules gives an incredibly sleek and chic result. Statues, pillars, furniture, chess pieces and every other conceivable marble object: you print them effortlessly.

Fiberlogy PLA Mineral filament is made to the highest quality standard you know for filament. A roundness tolerance of 0.01 mm and a very precise diameter at 0.02 mm. These are characteristics you see practically nowhere else. Because it is a filament that has plaster as an additive, you can post-process it very well by sanding, polishing or painting. The individual layers are very inconspicuous thanks to the neat finish and the colour shading.

Your own 3D printing studio

We are very enthusiastic about this expansion within our range. Our printers have already spent many hours printing with Fiberlogy PLA Mineral, and with these new colours they will stay nice and busy. Become a real sculptor in your own 3D printing studio too! :)
